Peter Mawunda known by his stage name as Dj Tosh was born in Carletonville in the West Rand Johannesburg. He is never afraid to go too deep and soulful, his emotive musical selections are his own therapy and his love for music goes beyond the spectrum of mixing tune. He started by collection of house music on cassettes and creating mixes with the assistance of friends who were also house addicts.
His love for the Art was influenced by Dj Mbuso and Clive Bean who exposed him to house music gigs/scenes in 1996 at the then called Vaal Triangle Technikon. He then started organising events in and around Carletonville and went on to partner with Dj Floyd in Mohlakeng (Randfontein) from 1997, since then using his influence and passion for music the entertainment business in Randfontein was transformed for good.
It is Dj Tosh belief that it’s all about the mood, soulful mellow groove and about playing those tracks that get you tapping your feet and nodding your head without you realizing it.
“Music is my therapy. I love getting lost in the music and I love the joyful feelings it stirs up in me. Music has a beat that commands my feet to start moving.”
